I offer couples therapy online and in person based on empirically studied methods including Attachment Theory, EFT (Emotional Focused Therapy), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Non-Violent Communication.
Therapy provides a consistent mediated space where couples can communicate and explore their relational dynamics.
People usually come to relationship coaching when a cycle of fighting and resentment has taken over and it feels like there is no way out. Exploring attachment is fundamental to understanding how you are relating to your partner and where things may be becoming strained. When we begin to address our relationship’s unique attachment difficulties and defences, then we can begin to better understand the other and develop more trust and positive experiences.
The EFT approach is interested in identifying what underlying emotions or needs are being expressed in the fighting cycle. Usually an expression of anger is also connected to an expression of fear and this can be understood in terms of attachment needs and wounds.
A foundation in psychodynamic psychotherapy also helps couples to start thinking about the unique blueprints that they bring to the relationship from their early childhood and generational family systems.
Benefits of Couple's Therapy:

- Rebuilds trust

What is Emotional Intimacy?
How it Works:
Contact
A couple usually contacts me by email to briefly tell me about themselves and see if I have availability.
Assess
If we all agree, we will set up an initial meeting either online or in-person so that the three of us can meet and talk more in depth about what might be going on and get a sense of whether we would be a good fit going forward.
Sessions
If we decide to continue, then we will set up regular sessions either weekly or fortnightly to work on the presenting challenges. Each session is 70 minutes long.
